  • Windows 11 2022 Update and later supports a new feature called Smart App Control.
  • For details on Smart App Control, please refer to the following Microsoft site.
     › What is Smart App Control?
  • On the models with the versions older than Windows 11 2022 Update preinstalled, Smart App Control will be automatically set to [Off] after updating to Windows 11 2022 Update or later.
  • On the models with Windows 11 2022 Update or later preinstalled, Smart App Control is set to [Evaluation mode] by default. Smart App Control will be automatically turned to [Off] or [On] when the evaluation by Evaluation mode is complete.
  • The following software may be blocked by Smart App Control if Smart App Control is [On].

The following models with DVD Drive Pack option or Blu-ray Drive Pack option.
FZ-40[A/B/C/D]
FZ-55[A/B/C]
FZ-55[D/E/F]

[PowerDVD]

If Smart App Control is [On], PowerDVD may not be able to be installed from [DVD Drive Utility Disc] or [BD Driver Utility Disc].
And also, even if PowerDVD has been already installed, it may not be able to be invoked.

We plan to provide the countermeasure PowerDVD for the target models. We will inform you about the provision of it on this page.

[Power2Go]

If Smart App Control is [On], Power2Go may not be able to be installed from [DVD Drive Utility Disc] or [BD Driver Utility Disc]. And also, even if Power2Go has been already installed, it may not be able to be invoked.

[Barcode Virtual COM Driver]

If Smart App Control is [On], Barcode Virtual COM Driver may not be able to be installed. (This problem may occur when installing the barcode Virtual COM Driver that is not installed in the factory default status in order to use the barcode reader in Virtual COM Mode.)
