Answer

What is a screen "Image Persistence"?
Also known as "image retention" or "ghosting", it is a common occurrence on LCD displays. This type of image retention is characterized by artifacts belonging to a previous image being left over after changing the image on the LCD.

Image persistence artifacts can be prevented by using the screen saver feature on your system.

Enable Screen Saver on Windows 10
  1. Right click on home screen and select "Personalize".
  2. Go to "Lock Screen".
  3. Click on "Screen Saver Settings".
  4. Enable screen saver settings in this menu.

Enable Screen Saver on Android OS
  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap on Display.
  3. Go to "Screen Saver".
(On some devices, you might have to go to advanced settings to find Screen Saver.)
  4. Screen saver options can be enabled in this menu.

Image persistence can also be prevented by using the power & sleep features, which turn off the screen after a set amount of time.

Enable Power & Sleep Settings
  1. Right click on the desktop screen.
  2. Select "Display Settings".
  3. Select "Power & Sleep".
  4. Choose the time for when the screen to turn off, and the time for when the PC to sleep if not being used.
