To use VPN in a state of setting in the dedicated cradle causes an error.

Answer

If your device has Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld Update 2, the Ethernet of the dedicated cradle is supported but it does not support VPN on the Ethernet communication, so VPN communication can not be used when the device is set in the dedicated cradle.

To use VPN needs to remove the device from the dedicated cradle.Or, by upgrading your device to Windows 10 IoT Mobile Enterprise, VPN on the Ethernet communication can be enabled.
